Mistakes are the enemies that I’ve made of them because I’ve chosen to believe that they are the stuff of my ruin instead of the ingredients of my success.

It is in the defeat that we find the ingredients for the next success.

Failure is not failure unless we fail to learn from it.

Without hesitation, I can tell you that it wasn’t the ability to get it right that got me here. Rather, it was the ability to learn every time that I got it wrong.

Never having made a mistake is a success that is always inferior to having made a mistake and having learned from it.

A true work of art is shaped by the hands of another, and if in shaping us that ‘other’ is anything other than God, the piece will never touch the remotest periphery of its potential.

If I rise above what people do to me and consistently strive to be the ‘bigger man’ despite the cost to me, I will never become what I dislike in others.

How we handle what’s ahead of us will be determined by what we learned from everything that’s behind us. For if we learned nothing, what’s behind us will be the exact same thing that’s in front of us.

Packaged inside of every mistake there lays a great lesson. And while I don’t want to take the mistake into the New Year, I most certainly want to take the lesson that’s packaged inside of it.
