To simply emote is not to express an opinion. Rather, it is an attempt to force a point of view that won’t stand on its own merits.

It seems that we are indiscriminately committed to force-fitting a moral standard to the selfishness of our agendas as a means of hiding the selfishness of our agendas. Yet, the only thing that’s hidden is the fact that nothing is hidden.

In any culture where agendas have shaped ethics, we will find a culture that has in fact purged itself of ethics. And that means that in time there will be no culture.

Independence that has declared its ‘independence’ from the sure and certain compass of sound morals is nothing more than rogue greed having scantily dressed itself in the garb of independence while running off the cliff of anarchy.

On that first Christmas morning, the cries of this newborn were ignored by a world off to greater agendas from which this child would rise to save us.

Honor is where I unashamedly declare that every success is the work of my God, where flattery is pretending that every success is the work of my hands. And while pursing honor will insure the death of flattery, pursuing flattery will insure the death of everything.

It is, I think, a far lesser offense to blatantly ignore God’s directions for our lives rather than arrogantly think ourselves shrewd enough to be able to bend them to our liking without breaking them and therefore breaking ourselves.

Left to my own devices, it won’t take long before my conscience will be overrun by my greed. And if my devices are that faulty, I need to turn to a God who is not.

If I worship the fact that I don’t worship anything, amongst other things what I’m worshipping is denial.
