I have no wish to stand amidst the accolades of men, even should millions of them shout my name in adoration. Instead, I would rather bow in the audience of God without a single man knowing that to be happening.

It is in boldly unleashing our faith that we effectively leash our fears.

I am terrified by the horrors that lurk all around me. But it would do me good to remember that those same horrors are terrified by the God who resides within me.

If I understand death as a temporary loss that is irrevocably swallowed up by the eternal existence within which it occurs, I suddenly realize that it is the death of something that enriches the life of everything.

I presume to know the plans that God has for me, when far too often they are the plans that I’ve crafted. And once I’ve got them shaped just the way I want them, I go ahead and attribute them to God so that I can pursue them with a clear conscious. And while there are innumerable recipes for disaster, it’s hard to cook up one that’s more disastrous than this one.

Has my life been cheated by the shortness of the time afforded me, or is it possible that the greater part of my life has been saved for a time where there is no time?

In walking with God it’s not about knowing the facts. Rather, it’s about knowing the God Who knows the facts.

You can live without God, but to do so is to live without living.

The question of ‘who I am’ is bigger than ‘who I am.’ Therefore, I think it far wiser to ask the Great I AM who I am.
