At the point that I’ve given up being found by God is the point that I’m most ready to be found by Him.

What makes us think that God is insensitive is that He refuses to give us what we ‘want’ in order to give us what we ‘need.’ And to somehow think that such an action is insensitive is to suggest that we are the ones who are insensitive.

To be rescued rather painfully points out the fact that we don’t have the resources to rescue ourselves. Thanks to the stubbornness of our stale pride we choose to refuse rescue and embrace anguish, which means that the greatest thing that we need to be rescued from is ourselves.
