To create a beginning is to fashion an ending. And to experience an ending is to create space for a beginning. And in this choreographed cycle I can always have confidence that any wall is a door waiting to happen.

I wouldn’t suggest that we fear the past. Nor would I suggest that we find ourselves frightened by the future. Rather, I would suggest that we learn from the former to enhance the latter. And not to do that would be the thing I’d fear.

Have I not yet discovered that the ashes of today enrich the soil of tomorrow?

We tend to deny our humanity because in accepting the fullness of it, we would need to confess how little we’ve done with it.

Simply giving something ‘a shot’ is not giving something our ‘best,’ for our best is made up of as many ‘shots’ as it takes in order to be our best.

We tend to perseverate on the fact that as far as we might have fallen, there’s always another bottom underneath the one we’re laying on. Yet, for every bottom underneath us, there’s always endless opportunity above us.

We want a fresh start only because we didn’t sufficiently care for the last fresh start.

So might it be that whatever I’ve lost in my life is what creates the space for whatever I’ve yet to gain in my life. Therefore, without loss I am without gain.

The greatest risk is not risking.
