We have cast surrender as weak. However, if surrender to God makes us everything we could never be on our own, then weakness would, in fact, be the unwillingness to surrender.

Prayer is the humble man laying prostrate before an Infinite God. And although it may seem utterly ludicrous, a man such as this is one of the most powerful men that you will find anywhere on the face on the earth.

Many times I have walked the road in the solemn hush of a winter’s snowfall. And it seems that the inexpressible peace of winter tenderly afoot in moments such as these is God whispering to my soul that the peace that now surrounds me can be the peace that lives within me. I only have to quit trying to create the snow and let Him bring the snowfall.

Forgiveness is an action where our lesser selves decide to be more than less.

There’s not much that I can find in places where there is nothing to find. However, to avoid facing God I find myself spending a lot of time in those very places.

If I were to sit down and count them, how many of my prayers were tainted by the seduction of greed? None, simply because nothing of that sort is a prayer.

The yardstick that we frequently use to determine if something can be restored is based on the handful of inches that we bring to the process, when God shows up with an infinite amount of miles.

Have we not considered that the greatest sacrifices imaginable arise from the greatest love conceivable which results in the greatest transformations possible. And if this is not our understanding of Christmas, we have no Christmas.

Don’t be fooled. Greatness is not the catalyst of great change. Rather, the catalyst of great change is the common man deciding to walk with the uncommon God. Therefore, all of us are only one decision away from changing everything.
