An idea, regardless of how noble it might be, is only an idea until someone has the idea to act upon it.

Why should I care when no one else does? For the simple reason that the most critical time to care is when no one else does.

To grow is not to timidly sit on some safe shore at water’s edge and clumsily grab whatever happens to float by me. Rather, it is to deliberately step into waters both calm and turbulent in order to wrestle great things to shore.

The road from ‘here’ to ‘there’ is a map yet to be written with the pen I hold in my hand.

I think that there’s some thread of stubbornness that runs within us that says that the greater the tragedy the less we are willing to let it stand. And that’s one reason why I believe in our ability to take the tragedy of a world gone astray and knock the legs out from under it.

The ‘fact’ that it can’t be done is ‘fiction’ for the man with vision.

How do I begin to evaluate my worth? By realizing that some things can’t be assigned a value, and that my life is one of them.

I can wait for life to shape me in whatever manner it chooses. Or I can shape me to make life whatever I choose.

If a goal doesn’t exist, there is no momentum (other than that which is involved in falling down).
