What is the goal of a human being? An Indian person can truly achieve a state of the Absolute Supreme Self [Parmatma, the Lord]. To achieve one’s own Absolute Supreme Self state is the ultimate goal!

Keep one goal only and that is ‘to know thy Self [Soul]’. Do not be insistent about ‘I want to do this and do that’. Whatever happens, at whatever time, is correct.

There are two types of spiritual practices. One spiritual practice is done to attain the final goal (experience of pure Soul) and the other type of spiritual practice is done for the sake of doing the spiritual practice. The practice that is performed with the intent of attaining the final goal is the last; final type of spiritual practice.

Scripture is one of many instruments to attain the Goal (experience of pure Soul). How can it be discarded?

No matter what kind of circumstances come together, if one’s stillness is not shaken and his goal does not change; he is known to have attained religion.

Questioner: Do all worldly actions go to waste? Dadashri: No, it depends on the purpose. If the purpose is Liberation, then one will come across circumstances for liberation. If the purpose is the passion for worldly pleasures, then one will find befitting circumstances.

If your singular aim for Liberation is strong, you will certainly attain that path. One who speaks of Liberation but has various other worldly goals internally, will never attain that path.

Every man should care (be concerned) about these three things: Which station have I come from? Which station did I get off? Which station am I going to?

All these are [relative] tools (sadhan) and that too, they are not subtle (sthool). One will have to go into the subtle (sookshma) [state]. What would happen if the tools themselves are believed to be the ultimate goal (sadhya)?
