The self contained within the scriptures will not do. The real Self is needed, One that is incomprehensible, One that cannot be inscribed in the scriptures, One that is indescribable, inexpressible. Where words do not reach, where the vision cannot reach, there lies the Self! That Self prevails in an absolutely untainted state, it indeed prevails in a state free from association!

Scriptural knowledge is achetan (inanimate; lifeless), nevertheless it still it takes one towards chetan (animate, the eternal pure Soul). And Gnani’s [the enlightened one’s] Knowledge is Chetan [animate]. When one attains the Gnani’s [the enlightened one’s] Knowledge, that Knowledge itself will continue to do all the work.

Moksha [Ultimate Liberation] is not found in the scriptures, Moksha is in the Soul [Our Real Self].

Upon completion of an in-depth study of the four Vedas, what do the four Vedas themselves say? “This is not That, this is not That! The Soul (your real self) that you are searching is not in here. Go to a Gnani [the enlightened one] !

The attainment of an established awareness of the Self (the Soul) transcends the four Vedas.

Only this much needs to be known: If you separate ‘I’ and ‘my’, you will have known all the scriptures! Then the whole universe will be known to you!

To know gneya-gnan (the knowledge regarding the object to be known) is referred to as scriptural knowledge and to Know Gnata-Gnan (the Knowledge regarding the Knower) is referred to as experiential Knowledge (anubhav Gnan).

All the scriptures are written to know God. One has never attained God and has kept on wandering for infinite lives. Nothing can be resolved, unless one gets rid of his ignorance about his real Self. All this is imagination. The imaginary pictures which people have created (in their mind), there is no end to that imagination.

One starts gaining benefits from the moment he comes to know the Soul (our true self) in word-form. The Soul in the word-form is found in the scriptures. The real Soul is found within the Gnani [the enlightened one].
