A king will say 'I killed thousands of people'. He is simply doing egoism; he is taking pleasure in taking credit of doership (garva ras). They were killed by those who were on the battle field. Why does the king needlessly take on the liability [of new karmic causes]? In doing so, those who did the killing are set free. The rule is that the liability falls upon the one doing egosim [of doerhip].

Saiyam (a state free of anger-pride-deceit-greed, attachment and abhorrence) cannot be attained through egoism. Renunciation can take place through egoism. In renouncing, doership is required, there needs to be a doer of the renunciation.

Dehadhyas (the belief that ‘I am the body’) does not leave without [the grace of] the Gnani Purush (the Self-realized One, who can help others realize the Self). The Gnani Purush is vitaraag (one who is free from all attachment). He constantly remains in Swa-parinati (the natural state of the Self). The Gnani Purush does not remain [engrossed] in the body, mind, intellect or ego. That is why only the Gnani Purush can free us from our belief that 'I am the body.

Egoism does not have eyes of its own. Some days, it sees through the eyes of the intellect (buddhi). However, what will happen if you befriend a blind man?

If your ego is not there, then you are in moksha, and if you are not in moksha, then you are in your ego.

Why should one ever get pain? One is the Absolute Supreme Self (parmatma), how can one have any pain? It is the egoism that causes pain and it is also the egoism that suffers the pain! The absolute Supreme Self doesn’t have any suffering!

To change from inauspicious [bad] to auspicious [good] can be done, through egoism. But egoism is not required to come to pure-state from auspicious-state. From there, one will not be able to know where to find the staircase to climb up the steps! That’s why, all this has stopped from going further.

When no trace of one’s know-how [capable to do something or everything] remains, one will be endowed with powers similar to God’s! Then whatever one desires it will come before him.

All the pains are caused from going against the ‘nature’! 'Nature' adjusts everything but one does 'egoism' against ‘nature’!
