Worries and sufferings are helpful for (one’s) spiritual development.

If you can afford to live in this worldly life, then there is nothing you need to understand further, and if you find the worldly life bothersome then you need to understand spirituality. In spirituality, we need to know the nature of the Self (Soul). When ‘who am I?’ is known then all puzzles will be solved.

Shukladhyan (internal state that renders the constant awareness of ‘I am pure Soul’) means Dhyan (internal state of being) of the eternal form of the Self, the Soul. Dhyan is a natural thing. And in shuddha upayog (pure applied awareness as the Self), one must do spiritual effort with awakened awareness as the Self.

Importance is not of ‘discharge’ (of karmas) that occurs; but the importance is that of the ‘dhyan’ (internal state of being) at that time in effect.

Whatever actions that are seen in this world, are the discharging of karma that has previously been charged. A person has nothing to do with it. There, he does the egoism that I have done samayik (introspective analysis as Self). One binds karma there, and gets entrapped. He is indulged in the pride of doership there!

If a person does five samayiks (introspective analysis by being as Self) he will say, ‘I did five’. This is how he will taste the sweet pride of doer-ship. Actually, he should say “it was due to God’s grace that five samayiks were done.” He should not taste the sweet pride of doer-ship.

The lesser the artadhyan (mournful contemplation hurting the self) and raudradhyan (wrathful contemplation hurting the self and others); lesser are the worldly difficulties.

Misery is an unpleasant painful experience (ashata vedaniya); result of misery is artadhyan (mournful contemplation that hurts the self).

Only when there is dharmadhyan (absence of adverse internal state of being that hurts the self and others) in the body, there will be shukladhyan (Internal state that renders the constant awareness of ‘I am pure Soul’) in the Self (Soul).
