To take a beating and then forget. To take yet another beating and forget is called ‘Moha’ (Illusory attachment)!

Like-dislike is a ‘discharge moha’ (illusory attachment that is dissipating and not binding new karma), while attachment-abhorrence is a ‘charge moha’ (illusory attachment that binds new karma).

How is intoxication (that “I Know”, “I am something”) recognized? It is when one says, ‘Yours is wrong’.

Worldly efforts (laukik purusharth) are all an effect (prarabdha – effect of past life causes). To work in one’s profession is an effect (prarabdha). To give sermons, is also an effect. Even listening to this satsang is an effect. That in which there is dependency upon other things; it is all effect (prarabdha).

The Lord himself called it kusang (company of bad people)! He did not do it out of abhorrence. Nor has he called it ‘satsang’ (company of enlightened one) out of attachment. He spoke with non-attachment ‘this is satsang’ and ‘this is kusang’. The scars of kusang (company of bad people) do not go away for thousands of life times. That is why we tell you to ‘remain seated in satsang’.

Weakened anger-pride-deceit-greed (kashays – the ones that gives pain to soul) is called religion and absence of anger-pride-deceit-greed (kashays) is called (True) Knowledge (Gnan). If a religion cannot reduce anger-pride- deceit-greed (kashays), then either the religion is wrong or you are wrong. Religion is the one of the enlightened ones (the Vitraags); how can it be called as wrong?

You have endured so much misery. If you take note of that, even then moha (infatuation due to illusion) will go away. And yet it does not go away, and keeps making you endure the misery.

Old wounds heal within, because of moha (infatuation due to illusion). Otherwise, one would be overcome by dispassion for the worldly life (vairagya).

There is moksha (ultimate liberation) for the one who goes outside the moha (infatuation due to illusion). Moha is a vikalp (belief that ‘I am the body’). End of moha is nirvikalp (free from the wrong belief ‘I am the body’ & with right belief that I am Pure Soul).
