There can be no reputable person in Kaliyug (current era of moral and spiritual decline). Reputation is completely gone in Kaliyug. And yet, there is competition for reputation!

Worrying is the greatest pride, which is why nature punishes one heavily. Nature punishes more the one who worries, than it does the one who curses God. The doer is some other entity and you are worrying? Are you mightier than even nature?

If the laws of traffic are honored, then the car will not collide anywhere. If you abide by all kinds of laws of this world, then you will not collide anywhere.

Until pride (vanity) leaves, there is nothing but pain, pain and more pain!

Egoism [Ahamkar: Aham=I; kar=did] means ‘I did’. Where one is not the doer and he says, ‘I did’; that is egoism. To do egoism and to walk around with an inflated chest is pride (maan) and then to go on telling others ‘I did it myself’, is known as pride with my-ness (abhiman).

What is arrogant pride (abhimaan)? It is to believe the weight of the body-complex [pudgal] to be one’s own weight. It is to believe that ‘I am Great’.

In the worldly life, self-serving pride (swa-maan) is considered a good quality and arrogant pride (abhimaan) as a bad quality.
