Now that we're tied in points with 33 games left, we've got as good an opportunity as we've ever had to finish ahead of them. Against a team like Detroit, that gives you some confidence to go forward. There's still a long way to go, but (the two wins) sure don't hurt.

When a threat of such a nature is leveled against anyone, especially on state property, you should expect the state police to come investigate.

I've known them for years. It's like a homecoming for me going back to the SWAC. It gives me a little insight because I had gone against Coach Thomas when he was at Pine Bluff and Valley. When I was at Jackson State, he was at Alcorn. Coach McKenzie, going up against him the last couple of years, I've got a pretty good idea of what to expect from them and the players they're playing with.

You can't take away from the record we'd put together, but it's true that we'd struggled against some of the good opponents. Hopefully this will give us a little confidence.
