I believe we're at the verge of the greatest time to be alive in this world.But Washington is holding us back. How we tax, how we regulate. We're not embracing the energy revolution in our midst, a broken immigration system that has been politicized rather than turning it into an economic driver.We're not protecting and preserving our entitlement system or reforming for the next generation. All these things languish while we have politicians in Washington using these as wedge issues.

Sometimes when people say things, we should actually believe what they say.

It's important to build trust if you're trying to deal with big things. Big issues require everybody to get outside their comfort zone, and people are more willing to do so if they believe that their partner is sincere in their efforts. And the only way you can do that is to engage them on a personal level.

We are preparing a proposal to build and harden more special needs shelters, ... We would like to do this as a statewide initiative, not a member by member project. In addition, I believe there should be a local match requirement, since this is clearly a local and state joint responsibility.

I believe that the great majority of people coming here illegally have no other option. They want to provide for their family. But we need to control our border. It's not - it's our responsibility to pick and choose who comes in.

We need a serious leader to deal with this. And I believe I'm that guy.

I believe that in a case such as this, the legislative branch, the executive branch, ought to err on the side of life, which we have, ... And now we'll watch the courts make their decisions.
