You have to understand what they (pitchers) do. That's my job. You have to find a way to get them through the game if they're not feeling good. When everything is going good and they're feeling one-hundred percent, it's my job to keep them that way. And you know what? If I see something, I'm going to let them know.

My favorite part (of the game) is knowing that they're comfortable, knowing that, no matter what, they can count on me. What I really enjoy most about catching is the relationship with a pitcher. The most important thing is they can relax when I'm back there and know that I did my job, I did some homework on hitters.

There is only one Mariano Rivera. There wont be another person who will come along and do what he did. No one does it like him. It was an honor to catch him and play alongside him for as long as I did. He made my job as a catcher so much easier. Mariano is a special person and obviously a special player.

I come out here every day, and my job is important when it comes to being there every day and being there for my pitchers. I really want to be known more as a defensive guy, and take my pitchers to the next level. Every time I go out on the field, I take a lot of pride in what I do at the plate, but I take a lot more pride in what I do behind the plate.
