The great Tao is universal like a flood… All creatures depend on it, and it denies nothing to anyone. It does its work, but it makes no claims for itself. It clothes and feeds all, but it does not lord it over them.

To understand the limitation of things, desire them.

When nothing is done, nothing is left undone.

Jade is praised as precious,but its strength is being stone.

When I let go of who I am, I become who I might be.

When the great Tao is forgotten,goodness and piety appear.When the body's intelligence declines,cleverness and knowledge step forth.When there is no peace in the family,filial piety begins.When the country falls into chaos,patriotism is born.
