Look, I've been coaching how many years? A long time. I never left a team in worse shape than I got it. Not once. Think about that. Think about me and think about the guy who's talking.

When you're losing game after game after game it's tough. It's hard to keep them up. It's hard to get guys to keep competing. It's really tough on the young kids. But you can't stop coaching and trying to get better. You hope you have something positive to talk about.

You're coaching a storied franchise, ... I want to see this franchise respected, being a contender every year, having people come to the Garden and saying, 'Man, they played the right way.'

This is not an individual sport. Everywhere I went it's about team. I've been coaching the same way my whole life. I never had a problem getting people to understand.

If something happens and it improves our team, it happens. If something doesn't happen you've got to keep coaching and hope you coach them better.
