As long as we insist on hanging on to our hate, the world will not know peace.

While we cannot close our eyes to what is happening around us, it is important for each of us as individuals to refuse to hate another human being and commit to compassion, love, peace and nonviolence in the world. In becoming aware and resistant to evil, we should be wary of becoming part of the evil ourselves.

We have listened to the voices of hate, the voices of selfish unreason for far too long. Only the voices of peace will lead us where we need to be.

Love doesn't make bullets. It doesn't drop bombs. Only hate does that - driven by fear.

While most of our major religions acknowledge the truth of universal brotherhood, too many human beings are still hanging on to their hate and fear of "the other." We have created our own misery. We can also heal ourselves through kindness, cooperation, compassion, generosity, forgiveness, honesty, understanding and sacrifice. The choice is ours.

Good people turn to love, courage and kindness in times of crisis, not hate, fear and cruelty.

Healthy people live their lives in love not hate, in courage not fear.

No one is going to save the world by hating other people. That’s not to say we shouldn’t be angry about all the wrongdoing. Anger, however, is not the same as hate, though people often equate the two. Anger can be channeled into positive action, as a force for good. When our hearts are in the right place, we are working for the benefit of all humanity.
