By nature, we want to be liked. We want to be accepted. But, most of the time, we allow our worth to be decided by the people on the sidelines. By people that see snapshots of our life but have no clue what the whole picture looks like.

You don’t have to stop fighting for others, you just have to remember to fight for yourself too.

I fell in love with his effort. The way he never stopped trying to make this love the best it could be.

I lived for so long without you, only dreaming of the concept of you. And, now that I know you, I can't imagine going back there... to a me that didn't know your name.

Be the one who makes people feel like they are worthy of second chances and new beginnings. Be the one who finds a way to love others and love themselves, flaws and all. Be the one that shows others how beautiful it is to love without conditions.

Autumn used to be our favorite, drinking spiced apple cider between caramel apple kisses. Flannels and new love flickering in candlelight. So, I hoped for a change in us in the fading summer. That we might remember the smells of the cider and the sweet sticky kisses. The warmth of our love, so vibrant and new. But as the seasons changed, I saw a change in us. And, I watched our love wither as the last leaves fell.

I was missing you, but not for the person you were. I was missing you for the version of you I made up in my mind. I was missing the possibilities of what could have been. I was missing the potential I thought I saw in you. I was missing you for the glimpses I thought I saw of our future and for that hopes I had that I could be a girl worth changing for.

Because all it takes are a string of “some days” that she chooses to keep fighting, “some days” where she’s not defeated by discouragement, “some days” when she silences the voices in her head telling her that she wasn’t meant for this. Some days she feels comforted in the fact that someday, this will all feel okay.
