Why did he do it? One reason. So when you hurt, you will go to him - your Father and your Physician - and let him heal.

God the FatherTo recognize God as Lord is to acknowledge that he is sovereign and supreme in the universe. To accept him as Saviour is to accept his gift of salvation offered on the cross. To regard him as father is to go a step further. Ideally a father is one in your life who provides and protects. That is exactly what God has done.

I just love those [saying of Christ ]: "Father forgive them, they know not what they do. I thirst. It is finished. Into Your hands I commit My spirit. Today you will be with Me in paradise." That was really the heart of the second book I wrote called No Wonder They Call Him Savior.

You see, it's one thing to accept Him as Lord, another to recognize Him as Savior - but it's another matter entirely to accept Him as Father.

Baptism is bowing before the Father and letting him do his work.
