The “why” determines the “how.

Meaningful, long-lasting change doesn’t happen overnight. Be patient with yourself, and know that the progress is in the process. Start by finding something you enjoy, and create space in your schedule to practice that thing each day. Make it a priority, and you will eventually make it a habit.

Learning how to be aware of and connected to yourself helps you identify and move toward your ideals in both work and life. This makes you a healthier individual and aligns you with your purpose—however you’ve defined that for yourself.

The progress is in the process, and your success is in consistent, intentional practice.

Remember that you have the knowledge, tools, skills, and, if you’ve made it this far, the will to work and live with purposeful productivity. Know that your progress is in your process and that success lies in consistent and intentional practice. And believe that “should” is nowhere near as powerful as need or want.

Staying rooted in your purpose, the reason you started in the first place, helps you get through the tough days and appreciate the good ones. It also ensures that you’re growing toward what really matters to you.

Remember that there’s no longevity in “should.

Just remember that if what you’re doing lacks purpose or intention—if you don’t know why you’re working so hard to move in a certain direction—then all you’re doing is losing energy.
