Your hair is magical. Your nose is perfect. Your skin is amazing. You're beautiful. Ignore all the other noise.

Once you hate yourself, you become a prey to manipulation and control. Because you have no self-esteem, no ego to protect. You do as you're told so that you're accepted by others. So that you feel that you have value. Consequently, you start to want to distance yourself from YOURSELF. You cannot stand to see an image of yourself through the success of other Black People. If they have power, you hate that power. If they have humility, you also hate that. Because you hate YOURSELF.

Dwelling on things causes unnecessary stress. It can make you sick too. Take care of yourself.

Don't take everything to heart. Seriously, don’t take everything to heart.

Let's learn to love ourselves. Because when we love ourselves, it becomes easier to accept the gifts that promote our heritage and culture. It becomes easier to love our hair, complexions, and bodies.

This is the message that I tell myself when my back is against the wall, 'this is not my place. I'm not meant to last in this position. I'm meant to keep on moving. And there's a better place than being stuck against this wall.' Then, I twist, turn, and do everything I can to release myself from that position.

Be happy to be alone because you can lose everyone else in a moment.

You've sacrificed too much for others. Now do the same for yourself.

The society, at this point, still believes that the whiter or lighter it looks, the more marketable it becomes. Yes, the view is problematic, but it is also the reality that we're facing today.
