The economic news this morning was mixed. The leading indicators fell for the third straight month, which is certainly not a positive, but the decline was minimal.

The market will continue to be supported by the good earnings we've had and by the options expiration we're seeing but certainly we're nearing some day of reckoning.

Mr. Greenspan certainly left the door open about a possible hike. That whole testimony yesterday (Tuesday), while it relieved the market a bit, is being scrutinized today.

Accelerating GDP growth certainly bodes well for future economic activity. And though the report showed the impact of defense spending, it also showed that corporations are starting to spend more, too.

This trade deficit news certainly points in the direction that the U.S. economy is slowing.

Certainly the move in oil is good, and the market certainly perked up somewhat after that inventory report.
