Dear young people, Jesus wants to be your friend, and wants you to spread the joy of this friendship everywhere.

Holy Week is a privileged time when we are called to draw near to Jesus: friendship with him is shown in times of difficulty.

Sometimes tears are the glasses that we need to see Jesus.

Jesus is not a figure from the past: He continues now and always to light the way for us.

I would like to ask you a question: how many of you pray to the Holy Spirit every day? Probably few, but we must satisfy this desire of Jesus and pray every day to the Holy Spirit, so that he opens our heart towards Jesus.

There is never a reason to lose hope. Jesus says: “I am with you until the end of the world.

I entrust this Twenty-second World Day of the Sick to the intercession of Mary. I ask her to help the sick to bear their sufferings in fellowship with Jesus Christ and to support all those who care for them. Dear young people, please, don’t be observers of life, but get involved. Jesus did not remain an observer, but he immersed himself. Don’t be observers, but immerse yourself in the reality of life, as Jesus did.
