Laughing at yourself does more to heal the heart and mind than any medicine. Discouragement and despair cower under a good dose of laughter.

Feeling discouraged does not mean you quit. Feeling sad does not mean joy is nonexistent. Feeling lonely does not mean you are alone. Feeling anxious does not mean you are in danger. Feeling loss does not mean you have nothing. Feeling angry does not mean you lose control. Feeling sorry does not mean you are at fault. What you feel is not necessarily what is.

Disappointment is really just a term for our refusal to look on the bright side.

It's an unfortunate fact that I'm easily discouraged. But the fortunate truth is I'm stubborn as hell and near impossible to sway in my resolve.

Do not get discouraged when things fail to work out as planned; this is often the case. Get busy instead and find another way. There are new strategies to attempt, other trails to tread. Alternate options do exist. They may seem less obvious or less desirable, but in the end they may very well prove to be the best route to your goal.

Don’t you dare get discouraged. Don’t you dare believe that failure is permanent or insurmountable.
