The summer sun welcomes me outto sandy beaches with palm trees. I am lulled by caressing raysas warm as heavy, denim quilts.The heat melts away distressesfrom my muscles, from my thinking.Entranced and contented, I baskin the careless arms of sunshine.

Don’t whisper your wishes to faraway stars, shout them boldly at the sun.

Oh sun! Fervid sun!You welcome me with summer.Drench me in your rays.

The sun, moon, and stars God gave to the world, but He embedded their glories in your countenance just for me. Woven in your hair are the sun's shimmering golden rays. From your face glows the pale luminescence of the moon. And in your eyes God sprinkled a million stars to twinkle against a backdrop of endless night. You are my celestial light.

I love when the sun plays hide-n-seek for a few days because its invisibility often goes unnoticed. The world seems content that its presence behind the clouds is enough. But as soon as that brilliant sun jumps into the open sky once again―shining in full splendor―our closed eyes automatically turn toward it, and we bask beneath a warm and tender touch, grateful all the more that our glorious sun exists.

I don't believe that the course of anyone's lifetime has ever been as unerring as that of the rising and setting sun, but I know many lives that have been just as inspiring.

One grateful thought is a ray of sunshine.  A hundred such thoughts paint a sunrise.  A thousand will rival the glaring sky at noonday - for gratitude is light against the darkness.
