The magic of meditation begins when thoughts end. Thoughts end when you detach from people and things. To detach from them neatly, you've to detach from your own body-mind, your own identity.

Understand the difference between mystical art and mystical knowldge. Devotional music, life stories of mystics and gods, images, paintings etc. may temporarily transport you to mystical world but they can't give you mystical powers. Art is beautiful. Knowledge is boring. Ancient sages tried to mix art with knowledge. We discarded the knowledge but kept the art.

To materialize your wish, the universe has to change the things around you. Your body is also one of those things. Drop the idea of ownership over your body and consider it as just another part of the universe. Otherwise either your wish will never materialize or it will materialize in a distorted way.

Even if somebody was mean to you in school days, you will feel good to meet them after many years. Childhood memories are the roots of your physical self. You feel good even if an enemy waters them.Similarly, there are soul connections. Even if somebody was your enemy in previous births, you will feel good to meet them in this birth. And often the story repeats ... the enemies of your previous births create more havoc in your life disguised as friends.

The universe is like a dense forest, full of mysteries. Human beings have cut a small plot inside it. The 'knowldge' you got from home, school, college and society keeps you engaged within this plot. It doesn't let you wonder what lies beyond the plot.

You are not the only occupant of your body-mind. Other bodyless beings often take over your body-mind and do their deeds.

Your mind is too focussed on human beings. Observe the patterns, shapes, colours, texture, sounds and sensations around you. Soon you will come out of human identity and realize that you're not a person but a presence. You're not something that exists; you're the existence itself.

There are two energies inside you: Architect (he) and Mystic (she). He needs to plan; he needs how and why of everything. She just watches things unfold; the universe shows her its most mysterious and magical depths. She can accept him because human planning is just a small part of universal magic. But he feels threatened by her. So she is asleep inside you.

Experiencing a particular thing strongly is passion. Experiencing everything deeply is compassion. The short-lived flame of passion must be used to discover the eternal Sun of compassion. Otherwise you will feel cheated every time a passion dies.
