But most people satisfy themselves with the readymade answers given by opinion makers, social activists, Karma theorists and so on. Oneness has to be realized, not created. Those who try to create oneness in the world end up creating one more group, one more sect, one more division.

You watch cute dog videos today. Tomorrow you discover videos of injured animals. Then you discover videos on animal cruelty. Then you get angry. Then you start seeing cruelty everywhere. News and incidents of cruelty reach you before anyone else. You start going deeper and deeper into an endless spiral.

If you are obsessed with a social issue, you carry a deep wound from your past. Thank you for your service to society, but what are you doing to heal yourself?Society lives in the mind. If you heal your inner wounds, your outer world will also clean up. If you don't, you'll become part of toxic groups and rabid activism.

Kindness often comes from a guilt-ridden mind, compassion comes from an aware soul. Kindness is selective, compassion is for all. For example, kind people often take care of dogs and cats but create nuisance for their fellow human beings. They often believe in a world without borders but become a tool in the hands of one country to harm another country.

When a wound stays too long on your psyche, it becomes an integral part of your identity. Then you want to get rid of the pain but not the wound. Such a wound allows you to play victim and gain sympathy but deprives you of healthy forms of love. It allows you to outrage and feel powerful but deprives you of real power.

We become mirror image of those whom we blindly oppose. And we don't even realize it.
