If we see the universe as a whole, nothing is changing in it. The scenes of the past are still there in the past. The scenes of future are already there in the future. You, the soul, are passing through them and experiencing the illusion of change. Karma gives you the fuel, Desires give you direction. If you didn't have any Karma or Desires, you would just float in eternity.

If a shopkeeper gives you exactly what you ask for, you will just take it and come home. If he says, "I don't have exactly what you ask for. But I have a substitute." Then a conversation will start between you and him; an attachment will start forming between you and him; you will go to him again and again." Maya (Space-Time) is that shopkeeper. It never gives you exactly what you want.

Your deepest craving is to find the Supreme Power. Nothing the world has to offer can satisfy it. This unsatisfaction can either lead you to Him or to some addiction.

Let your goal be no less than becoming complete. Let your ego perish in pursuit of this goal so that you can recognize your eternal self which is already complete.

Vedas are the origin from which everything has branched out. If you try to get their meaning, you will end up creating one more branch. Just feel the vibe of Mantras.

Get high on meditation, not addictions. Try this: Sit calmly, let loose your head and feel your heartbeat. Head will feel like a ball and heartbeat will give a nudge to the ball thereby causing subtle swinging motions to it. You will get high in 5 minutes .

You feel sexual excitement in genitals, horror in stomach, sadness and happiness in heart, physical pain in various parts of the body. What if you start feeling all of this at just one place: In your forehead. Then nothing can hurt you or control you. Even if somebody burns your body, you will feel nothing but a sweet sensation in forehead. It's possible even in 21st century. Disconnect from this crappy society and seek.

The magic of meditation begins when thoughts end. Thoughts end when you detach from people and things. To detach from them neatly, you've to detach from your own body-mind, your own identity.

If you directly learn some meditation technique, you won't be able to do it when you need it the most (when life is painful). Before learning techniques, build faith in God/Universe. But alas! These days people idolize Karna, not Arjuna.
