You can change a chair the way you want -- cut it, polish it, paint it; it won't resist. But you can't force change on living beings. More you criticise or try to change them, more rigid and defensive they become. Not just mind, even your body won't change if you or someone else keeps criticising it.

When situation around you changes, you also change so as to adapt. The reverse is also true. When you change, the situation around you changes.But you don't want to change yourself. You only want to change your clothes, mobile and other things on the surface. You resist changes required in your core self because you strongly identify with it.

You have manifested this prison around you because you are afraid of freedom. You are afraid of your own wild energy. No, you don't want freedom. You want concessions within the prison.

In movies, they use exaggeration to stimulate your mind, Reverse is also true, When your mind is stimulated (by a sad or happy event), you start exaggerating things. Your problem is not as big as your mind makes you believe. To get real perspective, go out, take a walk. observe life around you.

Suppose you are a wedding planner. Your client wants a flying horse for groom. So you will perhaps arrange a wooden horse which lands on stage with wirework. Our mind is like those crazy clients. It desires things which conflict with each other. Soul has to find creative ways to execute those desires in dream world. More conflicting your desires are, more twisted dreams you will see in sleep.

A person studies science for 20 years. All concepts stay in his outer mind. Then he goes to a preacher for 1 year. He turns into a fanatic. Why? Because half baked things easily get into subconscious mind and then into dreams. And we have a tendency to believe dreams to be the certificate from divine authorities.

If everybody is jumping into the well and you're unable to do it, that will become your problem. That's the definition of problem for human mind: Being left out from what everyone else is doing.

When you're alone at home, go to the mirror and stare at your reflection. You will get scared of yourself. Story of your life is actually a story of how you're running away from yourself and taking refuge in others.

People are constantly searching for an external enemy in order to forget their internal conflicts. Don’t oblige them. Stay detached.
