A chemical may react with some chemicals and remain indifferent to others. Similarly we get attached to some people (positively or negatively) and remain indifferent to others. Attachment is not love. Love makes you realize that you are something more than an organism, more than a body-mind.

A farmer feels insecure because of unseasonal rains, lack of rains, pests etc. He hopes to get stability in life when his children get jobs in city. A job goer is stressed due to insecurities of corporate world. She dreams of a peaceful and stable life somewhere in a remote village where she would grow her own food and eat. Mind keeps looking for peace and stabilitysomewhere in future. And that's the trap.

Know yourself and you will know God. Are you a body, a mind, a soul or something else or nothing? Can you be anything you want to be or you are already everything you want to be?

A student asks, "Sir, if you're enlightened, why are you stuck in this body?" Guru replies, "This body is a drop in the ocean. I am the ocean, not a drop. Since you identify yourself as a drop, you only see drops around you.

Imagine people sitting around fire under a starry sky and wondering who we are and where we have come from. But instead we sit in drawing rooms and make statements: "I am so and so, my son is so and so, my god is so and so, my holy book is so and so." If you have already assumed an identity, how will you know who you really are?

If you have perpetual disagreement with your family member, no matter where the conversation starts, it will end at the same conflicting point. It’s so repetitive that you exactly know their response even before they say it. If that is so, why not do it all in your head? Say both your side and their side of argument in your own head while watching them silently. It will become like a prayer. At the end you will not DEMAND them to change. You will just wish.And wishes do get fulfilled.

Mind is like a wild horse that either runs after something or runs away from something. You are not the mind. You are the rider sitting still.

When you listen to the sound of waves at the beach, you feel relaxed because your mind doesn’t have to agree, disagree or judge that sound.Human beings are nothing but waves of five elements. Why does your mind go in overdrive when their sounds fall in your ear? You will feel tremendously relaxed when you stop agreeing. disagreeing or judging every human sound that falls in your ears.

Your rest is not rest. You are resting so that you can work. You are working so that you can rest. You are caught up in a circle.
