At the W.M. Keck Observatory on the very high altitude summit of Mauna Kea, there was no routine monitoring of mental functioning, blood oxygen levels, blood pressure or heart rate of workers.

I was on the Big‬ ‪Island‬ of ‪Hawaii in 2015 and managed to characterize the ionizing ‪‎radiation‬ ‎levels‬ in the south of the island. ‪Mauna‬ ‪Kea‬ was the radiation hot zone with approximately a doubling of radiation levels at the Mauna Kea Visitors Center at 9,200 feet as compared to sea level. I did not venture to the summit due to the known biologically harmful environmental conditions to the sea level adapted human that exist at 13,796 feet.

The short term effects of very high altitude ‘Summit Brain’ tend to progress into long term neurological and physical impairments.

Based on what I observed during my time in high altitude astronomy, mental illness was prevalent in the summit workers.

Once I started to develop ‘Summit Brain’ away from the very high altitude workplace, it was all downhill from there.

The 13,796' very high altitude summit of Mauna Kea is low enough not to kill you, but high enough to damage you.

Any employer that is informing their workers that they may develop ‘Summit Brain’ and directs their employees to use drugs to do their job needs to be shut down.

Mauna Kea Sickness (MKS) in the summit workers is the inconvenient truth of the Mauna Kea Observatories (MKO).

The very high altitude summit of Mauna Kea was always cold and the telescope domes were chilled to the nighttime temperature which was often below freezing in wintertime.
