Ignorance is the mother of all the evil and all the misery we see. Let men have light, let them be pure and spiritually strong and educated, then alone will misery cease in the world, not before. We may convert every house in the country into a charity asylum, we may fill the land with hospitals, but the misery of man will still continue to exist until man's character changes.

Feel nothing, know nothing, do nothing, have nothing, give up all to God, and say utterly, 'Thy will be done.' We only dream this bondage. Wake up and let it go.

A few heart-whole, sincere, and energetic men and women can do more in a year than a mob in a century.

If you really want to judge the character of a man, look not at his great performances. Every fool may become a hero at one time or another. Watch a man do his most common actions; those are indeed the things which will tell you the real character of a great man. Great occasions rouse even the lowest of human beings to some kind of greatness, but he alone is the really great man whose character is great always, the same wherever he be.

For what is force? - that which moves matter. And what is matter? that which is moved by force.. Like all other basic principles, this is also self contradictory.

And here is the test of truth: Anything that makes you weak physically, intelectually, and spiritually, reject as poison; there is no life in it, it cannot be true.

Do not believe in a thing because you have read about it in a book. Do not believe in a thing because another man has said it was true. Do not believe in words because they are hallowed by tradition. Find out the truth for yourself. Reason it out. That is realization.

the idea of supernatural being may rouse to a certain extent the power of action in man, But it also brings spiritual decay. It brings dependence; it brings fear; it brings superstition . It degenerates into a horrible belief in the natural weakness of man.there is no supernatural, says the Yogi, but there are in nature gross manifestations and subtle manifestations.

On this basic - being right and doing right the whole world can unite.
