It would be nice if we could clear up the nominations that are still out there, and there are a lot of them.

Before we make commitments in resources, I think we need to have a clear understanding of what the direction will be,

merely replacing Secretary O'Neill and Lindsey is not a solution. With our economy stalling, unemployment rising and confidence suffering, it is clear that we need more than new faces. We need a new plan to stimulate our economy now.

Whether there are questions which are too invasive, I am not prepared to make that judgment today. I know a lot of people think so.

The reason we want to continue to talk tonight, ... is to express in as clear and unequivocal a manner as we possibly can that we're going to keep the pressure on tonight, tomorrow, for as long as it takes to get this job done.
