When I first started following writers on social media, I imagined a deluge of profound quotes, writing tips and insights into the plight of wordsmiths. There was some of that. Mostly though, my timeline was taken up with their obsession with coffee: 'I want coffee/I'm having coffee/I've had coffee.' Then came photos of their favourite coffee mug/pot/shop/barista. Too often too much social media and the latest internet trends drain us and erode us of creativity, drive, peace of mind and sense of purpose. 

One should be careful not to buy into the notion that someone else's life is somehow more complete or fulfilling than yours based solely on what you see online.
