Speaking is like conducting an orchestra; but instead of music, you are directing emotions. What about ideas I hear you ask? Or intellectual frameworks or structures? They all are directed and communicated by speaking but they all are emotional. Ideas have to be emotional or link to or evoke emotions if they are to be remotely interesting to anyone. And an idea that is appealing is in some way emotionally satisfying.
