The moment the link between the meditator (dhyata) and the object of meditation (dhyeya) is connected, it is known as meditation (dhyan). When the link breaks, the meditation breaks. Meditating upon the living Gnani Purush (enlightened One) is known as visualization (nididhyasan) while meditating upon an idol (murti) is concentration!
