After a night so restless that Aimee was certain she hadn't slept at all, her body surrendered at dawn; she found a dreamless peace from the tormenting thoughts of St. Briac and his outrageous behavior. During hours spent alone in the darkness she had rehearsed dozens of speeches that she intended to deliver as soon as they were face to face again and out of earshot of others.
