Sufferings are painful when we don’t want them. Once we decide to welcome sufferings as a means to achieve higher goals of life, they become a source of joy.

When we depend on the outside world for our happiness, there are billions of causes that can take away our joy. We need to find an anchor which can tie us to our happiness like a ship is tied to the shoreline. We need to board this big ship to achieve stability and protect ourselves from the uncertain waves of life.

Most people in the modern world are making their lives miserable not because they have no food, but because they eat excessively. The same goes for wealth. We must know how much wealth is needed to live a decent life and be happy.

When you force your mind to solve difficult problems of life, it soon starts feeling good due to its ability to solve them. It develops deeper thoughts and its intelligence gets sharpened. It is so energised that it wants to take even more problems and solve them, even if they pertains to others.

Every bad experience is a source of unhappiness. Yet the intensity of suffering can be controlled. Just like a person who has a million-dollar bank balance is likely to get less disturbed due to loss of a few dollars, you too can easily overcome some bad incidents in your life, without losing much joy, provided you already have a great amount of happiness in your life.

Work is important in life because without work, we are useless on this planet. Our actions connect us with the world and give a purpose to our lives. We feel valued when we do something for the society.

You must plan your life in such a way that at the time of your death, you own nothing, and have given everything. You can’t carry anything with you to the other world and everything shall be left here in this world after you are gone. All that will remain of you will be your good work.

It is important to have faith in life to connect to the fellow human beings as much as we need rational mind to understand the material world. It is unwise to drop all faiths just because faiths have been misused by some ignorant people. We have to see the positive impact of faiths and beliefs in the society and in the life of billions of people who are believers. Only by balancing our rational and faithful mind, we can find perfect life in this world.

It is important for us to develop the ability to differentiate between truth and fiction to escape from the darkness of ignorance and be in the light of understanding. Only when we know the truth as it is, we can be free from the illusions of life.
