I don't claim to be the best musician. If being the best means I earn the right to look down on people and critique their accomplishments in defense of my own, I don't ever want to be. People can say what they want about my music being 'banal' and my skill level 'competent,' and it will hurt my feelings (because despite what some believe, I do still have them), but I won't let it determine my self-worth.

As people, we often look to the future saying I'll be happy when… I'll be happy when I graduate, I'll be happy when I am thin, I'll be happy when I get a car… and so on. But why postpone happiness. Why not find joy in the journey of life. We need to find joy in the simple, ordinary events that make up the everyday because that is what we get the most of.

Everytime I go into the studio, before going into the studio, I say a prayer and I really ask God to give me inspiration. I ask Him to help me and be able to help the producer I am working with.

Maybe my best isn't as good as someone else's, but for a lot of people, my best is enough. Most importantly, for me it's enough.
