Today is the fodder of tomorrow’s dreams, so we’d be wise to invest in today so that we don’t show up with empty hands tomorrow.

The shortest short-term investment is to serve ourselves.

When it comes to my life, I may chase the pay-off of the moment or I may pay-it-forward into my future. Yet, being ‘righteous’ in these choices may grant me neither so that God might grant me everything.

Real relationships are the product of time spent, which is why so many of us have so few of them.

To lead is not to call your family up to where you’re at. Rather, it’s to abandon where you’re at and call yourself down to where they are.

I fear that should I seek out the treasures around me, they might by comparison reveal that I have not cultivated the treasures within me.

Are the returns on my journey equal to the length of the road behind me? And if not, have I realized the pressing need to surrender to God the road in front of me?

Trust is what I give to others out of the hope that they will give it back to me. But too often the return on such an investment is that it doesn’t return.

Everything I touch makes me a little bit more like the thing I’m touching, so I’d better start paying attention to what I’m touching.
