God will always want me more than I will want Him. And it seems quite reasonable to me that the greatest way that I can expend my life is to work on closing that gap.

If it’s about me, I can be assured that there will be a bunch of empty chairs in the auditorium of my life; save the one I’m sitting in.

At some point I hope to have grown sufficiently in both stature and wisdom to understand that I cannot deliver myself from myself, and that God alone can save me from me.

You may force me to quit you. And because you ask it or demand it of me, whatever it might be, I will respectfully comply. But quitting you does not mean that I have quit praying that you will not quit yourself, for there is a strong likelihood that that is what you quit before you quit me.
