There are two kinds of people in this world. Those who go with the flow, where destiny takes them, and those who fight their fate. While the formers are blessed with happiness, the latter achieve something far greater–fulfilment.

Sooner or later, at some point in your life, you’ll realize that money isn’t everything. Nor is happiness. No! We are not here to be happy. The aim of our life should be fulfilment. More than happiness, man seeks meaning. And when he finds it, his life becomes fulfilling.

What I want to say is, you are unhappy because you think too much. I strongly believe that someone who is truly mature can never be happy. It takes a lot of effort to turn into a pessimist. Lots of books, and of course, a lot of contemplation. A thinking man, therefore, can never be cheerful. The overly developed faculty of thinking comes at a price―happiness. So, try not to overthink. Try not to use your mind unduly. Especially when it’s not needed. And when using it won’t serve any purpose.

We shouldn’t use ‘should’ too much.

The cause of our despair is the sentences at the back of our minds, all of which contain the word ‘should’. It shouldn’t have been… I shouldn’t have… It should be… These are the sentences that we need to avoid. We shouldn’t use ‘should’ too much.

Ninety percent of the people are not happy with their jobs. The remaining ten percent don’t deserve their jobs in the first place.

It’s a privilege to feel. And misery, my friend, is necessary. Otherwise, happiness would lose its charm.
