Alice Oseman
Alice Oseman is a British young adult author, illustrator, screenwriter, and comics artist born on 16 October 1994 in Chatham.
Oseman was educated at Rochester Grammar School before going on to study at Durham University. Her first novel, Solitaire, was published when she was nineteen years old. She went on to write further novels, including Radio Silence, I Was Born for This, and Loveless, working throughout in English and addressing young adult and children's readerships.
Among her works, Heartstopper holds a central place. Oseman served as writer, creator, and executive producer of a television adaptation of Heartstopper, which is set to be released on Netflix. That project brought her considerable recognition: her accolades include a British Book Award, three Children's and Family Emmy Awards, three Goodreads Choice Awards, and a Silver Inky Award. In November 2023 she was named to the BBC's 100 Women list, and she appeared on the list again in October 2024.
