They will need places to live, so there would be more construction, houses, and families.

The world is changing. People need to realize and Barstow needs to be more productive so it doesn't end up like Calico (a ghost town).

Some people say Barstow is a hot spot in the desert, but I'm proud of Barstow.

Where are all the kids who graduated the last 25 years? There is nothing to keep them here.

We need more people around here and we need to grow. We are 25 years behind Victorville.

We need the Marine base. (Burlington Northern) Santa Fe and Fort Irwin can't support Barstow alone. If people don't make money they can't stay here.

I think it's a good idea. The economic benefits will be great. It will make millions of dollars for the city. They will hire 3,200 people. Hopefully most of them will be from Barstow.
