Bob Sweeney
Bob Sweeney was an American actor, producer, and television director who worked across both film and television during the mid-to-late twentieth century.
Born in San Francisco on October 19, 1918, Sweeney attended Balboa High School before going on to study at San Francisco State University. He went on to build a career that spanned multiple roles in the entertainment industry, working as an actor in both film and television productions, as well as taking on producer credits in each medium.
Sweeney's work ultimately extended well beyond performing, as he moved into directing for television — a role that came to define a significant part of his professional output. He died on June 7, 1992, in Westlake Village, California. His career reflected the broader pattern of American entertainment figures of his era who crossed between acting, producing, and directing across film and television.
