Dominic Moore was born on August 3, 1980, in Sarnia, a city in Canada, and holds Canadian citizenship. He pursued his education at Harvard University before embarking on a career in professional ice hockey, playing as a center across what would become one of the longer tenures in the National Hockey League among players at his position.

Moore entered the professional ranks after the New York Rangers selected him in the third round, 95th overall, in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft. From that starting point, his career as a center carried him through an extensive sequence of franchises. He played for the Pittsburgh Penguins, the Minnesota Wild, the Toronto Maple Leafs, the Buffalo Sabres, the Florida Panthers, the Montreal Canadiens, the Tampa Bay Lightning, the San Jose Sharks, and the Boston Bruins — nine organizations in total, spread across both conferences and multiple eras of the league's recent history.

Across that span of teams and seasons, Moore played nearly 900 NHL games, a figure that reflects the duration and consistency of his professional career. That career also brought him the Bill Masterton Memorial Trophy, a recognition that stands as one of the formal distinctions of his time in the league. The award added a notable entry to a playing record already defined by its breadth and longevity.

After his playing career, Moore moved into a role as game and studio analyst for the Utah Mammoth, a position he currently holds. The work keeps him engaged with professional hockey in a different capacity, and it is in that role — connected to the Mammoth organization — that Moore's relationship with the sport continues today.
