Eugène Morel
Eugène Morel was a French librarian, writer, and literary critic born on June 21, 1869, in the 3rd arrondissement of Paris.
Working in the French language across the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, Morel contributed substantially to the development of French libraries and librarianship during that period. He was among the founders of the Association of French Librarians, an institutional role that reflected his sustained engagement with the organization and advancement of library practice in France. He died on March 23, 1934, in Meudon. His work as a literary critic ran alongside his professional activities in librarianship, and the dual identity of practitioner and writer in the French language remained a consistent feature of his career.
