I think there’s always a call for people who are bucking the norm. But I don’t expect it to happen now because I think that more than ever the entertainment industry is trying to serve as a distraction, to keep people from thinking too hard.

I've never recognized 'emo' as a genre of music. I always thought it was the most retarded term ever. I know there is this generic commonplace that every band that gets labeled with that term hates it. They feel scandalized by it. But honestly, I just thought that all the bands I played in were punk rock bands. The reason I think it's so stupid is that - what, like the Bad Brains weren't emotional? What - they were robots or something? It just doesn't make any sense to me.

As far as we're concerned, if we're not obviously working, you can bet that we're somewhere underground working because we never stop.

Our feeling is that we don't want to go ram ourselves down people's throats but we also want to be able to make ourselves really accessible. I mean, that's our whole thing with the low pricing. It's just about making it accessible to people who are curious without necessarily spoon feeding everyone, you know?

I saw KISS and AC/DC and I thought they were incredible. I thought the shows were amazing. But once I saw the Cramps in a small room, there was a difference between the experiences. One was like a Siegfried and Roy explosion and one was something that was intense and real.

I would always rather be working on the band. All that other stuff is stuff I really enjoy doing, but I don't consider it... like, I don't want to be a producer. I don't consider that as my life's goal.
